The four ways to get a website
The prices below are typical ranges in France for a showcase website of a few pages: what you do, your services, photos, opening hours and how to reach you. They vary a lot from one provider to another, and with what you ask for.

The costs that come back every year
- The domain name, your address, like boulangerie-dupain.fr: around 10 to 30€ a year depending on the extension and the registrar. Watch the renewal price: it is often higher than the first year’s. Domain names, explained.
- Hosting, the computer that keeps your website online day and night: from a few euros a month for a small site.
- HTTPS security, the padlock in the address bar: free certificates exist, but someone has to install them and renew them.
- Changes: new opening hours, a new photo, this year’s prices. Some providers include small changes, others bill them by the hour.
An offer that looks cheap at the start can cost more over three or four years than one that includes everything. Add it all up over several years before you compare.
What makes the price go up
- An online shop, payments or bookings.
- Many pages, or several languages.
- Someone writing your texts or taking your photos.
- A logo and a visual identity created from scratch.

Questions to ask before you sign
- How long am I committed for? Some website rental contracts tie you in for three or four years. Check how and when you can stop.
- Whose name is the domain name in? If it is the provider’s, ask whether they hand it over when you leave, and on what terms.
- What happens to my website if I stop? Some providers hand over the files, others take the site offline. Know which before you start.
- Which changes are included, and how soon are they made?
- Is the price the same after the first year?
Our answer: 10€ a month, all included
BoiTech Web is a monthly subscription. We design your showcase website from what you tell us, put it online and keep it running. The design, hosting, domain name, HTTPS security and small changes are all in the 10€ a month (or 100€ a year), with nothing to pay upfront: you pay only when your website goes online.
You can stop whenever you like: the subscription ends at the end of the period you have paid for. Your website then goes offline, and we send you back your texts and photos. The domain name is ours; if you want to keep it, we hand it over once you have refunded the part of its current year still to run, and you renew it yourself from then on.
